L7: Ground Up II - Local configuration
Using local configuration is a powerful way to build up configurations very fast! Kasper shows how to gradually and quickly correct and build up functionality, including button colors of the Live Fly panel. Sections are used to assign default colors for sections of keys. Individual key colors are set as well. Finally we will sync the local configuration back to the server to secure it in the database and make it a part of the next firmware update.
Summary: In this video we change gear by using Local Configuration for really fast “interactive” configuration. This requires the controller to be on a network with a computer having a web browser and ideally being connected with USB so you can press the “Local Configuration” button. Then Kasper changes how the Upstream Keyer button works by changing to “Auto” mode, then he adds “Fade To Black” instantly, then moves on to adding a media selector for the two encoder knobs , all in very short time. Kasper then goes on to add color schemes to the buttons. This including using a section element to color a whole group of hardware components with a color, including having alternative colors for on/off states, then to override this configuration with individual button colors. Finally he synchronizes the configuration back to cores.skaarhoj.com and verifies that the online configuration was sync’ed back to cores.skaarhoj.com online.
